Firenze (Florence) – Day 6

So, the previous night, we drove to Tuscany (Toscana).  We didn’t arrive until late and since our little place was on an olive farm (yeah, you read that correctly,) we got a little lost.  Our sweet host, Lisa Rosa, came and retrieved us.  It was basically like being at the Cabin, but in the middle of Toscana.  It was absolutely breathtaking, and we wished we had been able to stay a day to help with the olive harvest (which was going on that evening.)  They offered for us to come!  We settled for breakfast in the church (they bought the church years ago after the priest decided he was done with it) and bought a large tin of freshly-pressed olive oil, instead.  We then drove to Firenze.  The GPS (AKA The Google Lady) drove us into the depths of a mountain, but still spit us out exactly where we were supposed to be: another AirBNB night with Daniele.  We then took off to see Firenze:

  • Il Mercato (The Market) – Nat bought the beige purse of her dreams!  She’d been thinking about it for years.
  • Climbed to the top of the Duomo
  • The Baptistry
  • Dinner at Ristorante ZáZá – one of the best meals we had in Italy
  • Saw Il Davide (The David)
  • Ponte Vecchio (oldest bridge in Europe)

    THANK YOU !!!!!
