Chrissy-mas!  My favorite time of the year.  We’ve made a lot of cookies, snuggled a ton, and stayed inside.  We’ve gotten quite a lot of snow.  Provo hasn’t seen much snow the last few years, and last Christmas wasn’t even white – at all.  This year it was, and we couldn’t have been happier about it!  The kids have definitely missed being outside, though.  It’s been too cold to be out, and for two days straight, we stayed locked up in the house because it was so blizzard-y.

On Christmas Eve, we made the trek up to Logan to be with Dovy’s family.  We left at one in the afternoon, which was, apparently, a ridiculous idea, because we didn’t drive more than 45 mph on the way up to SLC.  There were many accidents and even my Alaskan husband said that he was exhausted from having to concentrate so much on the road.  We stopped at a friend’s in Salt Lake, checked the doppler, got some food for the kids, and waited it out.  As soon as 3:30 hit, we were able to leave.  The roads were completely clear at that point, and we made it through Sardine Canyon with minimal slipping.  We were able to spend the evening visiting with Dovy’s Grandpa Lloyd, and the rest of his family at the Binns’ home in Logan.  It was a gorgeous evening, full of delicious food, good company, and the spirit of Christmas.  Thanks for having us!

Christmas was a blast!  The kids really got into it this year.  It was so magical watching the kids open presents, eating yummy breakfast together, listening to the story of Jesus’s birth, and being together.  We were lazy, and that’s how we like Christmas best.  :)
