Le Flu

This week was a big mixture of fun and misery.  We tried to spend a bit of time with my side of the family because everyone was in town and they don’t often get the chance to stick around for as long as they have been. We went to a Jump House on Wednesday.  Unfortunately, on the way home, Elli lost her cookies all over the backseat of the car.  We had to mop it all up and later in the day, I have to pay to have the seats shampooed.  On the bright side, the car is really clean now.  Elli spent the rest of the day with a fever and and an upset tummy.  She was pretty miserable.  I thought we were in the clear.

Saturday night, we headed up to Ogden for the traditional pool party at my aunt’s house.  We had a fantastic time with the family, playing volleyball while treading water in the deep end, eating pizza, and getting soaked.  We stayed the night at my grandparents’.

Sadly, little Anjali woke up rather distraught, with a fever and complaints of her tummy hurting.  I thought we had dodged the bullet, so to speak, but Anjali pushed full throttle into a day of stomach flu.  Poor girl was a trooper, though.  Every time she used the barf bucket, she’d say, “I feel better.  Let’s go see everybody!”  Poor thing.  She was cooped up in the room all day.  Luckily, she had the iPad to keep her company.  We made the trip home and tucked our little Princess into bed.

Here’s hoping for the best this week, right?
