Monday – Pool with my Aunt Becky’s sister, Jenny, and her boys. (I got a bit of a sunburn, but that’s okay…)
Tuesday – The whole family went to dinner at Red Robin and then stood in line for two hours to see Eclipse at 12:15AM. It was such a blast and I will be honest and say we saw it one more time before we left… hehe
Wednesday – My Aunt Mo flew into town for some business (she also made it for the Eclipse showing the previous night ) and we went to the park with the kids. That night, I made the most massive Bollywood meal for everyone and we watched Om Shanti Om, another Bollywood favorite! Bollywood Night all the way!
Thursday – Made desserts for the Fourth of July (9 pies, 1 cake). Lots of work, but lots of fun. Aunt Becky and I spent about an hour squeezing juice out of little Key Limes. (Thanks, Becky!)
Friday – Denver Zoo in the morning! Most awesome zoo I’ve ever been to. Wow. Anjali was completely in heaven there. When we ask her what she saw at the zoo, she says, “Zebwa, wion, juh-waffe, muh-tey, fishes, zoo, rawr!” That evening, we drove to my Uncle’s ranch, Hartsel. (Well, his company owns it.) Ate Pizza Hut on the way!
Saturday – We started out the day with breakfast cereal and then went shooting. I’ve never touched a gun before, but Uncle Frank is very big on the proper use and etiquette of guns, (and we were very careful, for those of you who are balking right now.) I shot a .22, a .357 Magnum, and a .44 Magnum; hit a few targets. So much fun! In the afternoon, we split up. Aunt Becky, Max, and Kathryn took Elli to some shopping stores south of us, and the rest of us, (Frank, Dovy, Anjali, mwah, Sam, and Lindsay) went horseback riding! Anjali loved it, until it started drizzling. She was a bit whiny after that, but we made it down okay. Afterward, we packed up and drove home.
Sunday – Fourth of July! (By this time, I had contracted a cold and did a lot of resting, but it was fun nonetheless.) We had a humongous American meal (ribs, burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, chips and homemade dip, baked beans, strawberry-pretzel salad, pies, and cake.) We started the fireworks right as a lightning storm rolled in. Anjali got a few moments with a sparkler and my crazy cousin, Max, lit the bigger fireworks in the cul-de-sac so we could enjoy them from the porch.
Everything was a whirlwind, but it was so enjoyable and we loved every minute! Our little girls are doted on and we’ve truly had the time to relax. Dovy was able to get a lot of work done, as well. I was so busy having fun with my babies and our relatives that he was really able to do what he needed and still had fun in the evenings with us.
